Ho`ala 8th Grader Wins State Writing Contest

We are happy to announce that Ho`ala student Emily Smith was one of 25 winners of the 2016 My Hawaii Story Contest, sponsored by the Hawaii Conservation Alliance which is part of the World Conservation Congress.   There were over 500 applicants from middle schools all over the state.  

Emily was honored at an Awards Ceremony at the World Conservation Congress on Sunday, September 5 at the Hawaii Convention Center. This is the same group/event that President Obama was in Honolulu to attend.
