Ho`ala Keiki 2017 Summer School is available to all students who have completed Kindergarten - 6th grade

Ho`ala's Keiki Summer School Program welcomes students who have completed Kindergarten through 6th grade.  You do not need to be a current Ho`ala student to attend.  This is an 8-week program beginning June 5  through July 28. The cost is  $200.00 per week with discounts for 4 and 8 weeks.  There are holidays on June 12th and July 4th and we do not prorate the cost for those weeks.  Students can sign up for any week and it does not have to be consecutive weeks to receive the discount.  This is a theme-based program with a different theme each week.  It is an inclusive classroom with all grade levels from K – 6 working on their own grade level. Morning academics are followed by afternoon encichment activities based on the theme of the week.  Several field trips are planned.  Weekly theme topics for 2017 are below. 



6/5 – 6/9          Week one:   Back to Nature                                         

Visits to lo'i, Botanical Garden, growing seeds, compost, etc. 


6/13 – 6/16    Week two:    A Day in the Life of...                         

Police day, fire fighter day, etc., encouraging students to dress up, read and watch and talk about career choices, possible visitors or visits to police or fire stations in the neighborhood.


6/19 – 6/23   Week three:   Sports Mania!

Fun sports activities for all ages building skill levels that will enhance basic athletic abilities.  


6/26 – 6/30   Week four: Drama Camp   

Enjoy the active process of creating theatre!  Aspiring actors will give voice and physical form to their imagination. Basic acting skills and technique will be taught through pantomime, improvisation, short skits, and theatre games. The students will then work as a group to demonstrate their skills in a final staged performance for parents and special guests at the end of the week!


7/3 – 7/7       Week five: Fun and Games! 

Enjoy a variety of activities and games that will allow students to enhance and build character, strengthen relationships, and focus on team skill development.


7/10 – 7/14   Week six: Let It Grow! 

Spend your week outdoors getting your hands dirty while learning all about plants in our very own garden here at Ho'ala!


7/17 – 7/21   Week seven:  Pokémon!  

Bring your approved devices from home for some Pokémon fun!


7/24 – 7/28    Week eight: Mad Scientist  

Be ready for an eruption of fun while making volcanos, ooey- gooey slime, and other fun experiments.
